College of Behavioral Health & Identity Science

The whole person, not the presenting concern.

The behavioral, psychological and identity dimensions of wellbeing, and how practitioners work with the whole person rather than a single presenting concern.

Overview

The College of Behavioral Health & Identity Science examines behaviour, identity and human experience, and what they mean for a practitioner sitting across from a client. Study is psychology-informed rather than clinical: how identity and self-concept shape the way people present, how behaviour communicates need, how culture and history sit inside a consultation, and how a practitioner holds boundaries while remaining genuinely present. This College does not provide a licensure pathway in clinical mental health, and completing its education does not authorize diagnosis or treatment of mental-health conditions. Its purpose is to make practitioners perceptive, respectful and appropriately cautious — and to make referral a normal part of competent practice.

Our purpose

To prepare practitioners who understand the behavioral and identity context of the people they serve, and who know when and how to refer.

Within the University

This College grounds the University's human-understanding commitment in structured behavioral and identity study.
