The Art of Healing

Healing is not limited to one modality,
and neither is learning.

Within select KUHAS workshops, continuing education experiences, and courses, learners may explore creative and experiential approaches such as coloring, painting, journaling, sewing, herbal medicine, body-care formulation, and other hands-on activities.

These experiences can combine practical skill development with reflection, emotional awareness, personal growth, and holistic wellness.

The Art of Healing is one expression of the KUHAS educational philosophy — not a requirement or instructional method used in every academic program.

Level I - Certified Scalp Scientist™

The Certified Scalp Scientist™ Program is the foundational Level I pathway within the College of Trichology Science at KISSED University of Healing Arts & Sciences. The program provides students with a comprehensive academic foundation in trichology, hair and scalp science, anatomy and physiology, scalp conditions, the history and development of trichology, introductory herbal science, psychological considerations surrounding hair and hair loss, and foundational wellness concepts that influence hair and scalp health. Students develop the scientific vocabulary, observational knowledge, and foundational reasoning necessary to understand hair and scalp concerns while remaining within an appropriate non-medical scope of practice. Successful completion prepares students to advance into the Clinical Trichology Residency and continue toward the Certified Clinical Trichologist credential.

Level II - Clinical Trichology Residency™

The Clinical Trichology Residency™ is the Level II applied clinical pathway within the College of Trichology Science at KISSED University of Healing Arts & Sciences. Designed for students who have completed foundational trichology theory through the Certified Scalp Scientist™ program or approved equivalent education, the Residency bridges academic knowledge with practical clinical application. Students develop competency in professional consultation, clinical intake, microscopic hair and scalp analysis, documentation, clinical reasoning, supportive protocol development, herbal trichology applications, therapeutic scalp modalities, technology-assisted wellness assessment, client education, scope of practice, professional referral, and clinical operations. Applied study includes microscopic hair and scalp analysis; microneedling principles and safety; low-level light/laser therapy; high-frequency therapy; scalp stimulation and rejuvenation; herbal scalp detoxification; herbal infusion therapy; biocommunication and wellness scanning; KCIS clinical software; clinical documentation; case management; cranial prosthesis and non-surgical hair replacement; and foundational education regarding professional credentialing and insurance-related processes for applicable hair replacement services. Students may complete the Clinical Trichology Residency through an approved online clinical pathway or scheduled in-person clinical residency. Both pathways are designed around defined learning outcomes and competency requirements, although specific hands-on activities, equipment access, demonstrations, and assessment methods may vary by delivery format. Completion of Level II does not require students to repeat Level I coursework. Students who successfully complete both Level I — Certified Scalp Scientist™ and Level II — Clinical Trichology Residency™ satisfy the core academic and clinical components of the Level III Certified Clinical Trichologist™ pathway, subject to completion of the University's applicable culminating credential requirements.

Level III - Certified Clinical Trichologist™

The Certified Clinical Trichologist™ program is the complete professional trichology certification pathway within the College of Trichology Science at KISSED University of Healing Arts & Sciences. Designed for students who know from the beginning that their goal is to become a Clinical Trichologist, Level III combines the University's foundational trichology education and applied Clinical Trichology Residency into one comprehensive program. The Level III curriculum consists of the complete requirements of Level I — Certified Scalp Scientist™ and Level II — Clinical Trichology Residency™. It is not an additional academic level that students must complete after Levels I and II. Students may reach the same academic outcome by completing Levels I and II separately or by enrolling directly in the complete Level III program. Students begin with the scientific and theoretical foundations of trichology, including hair and scalp science, anatomy and physiology, the history and professional development of trichology, herbal science, psychosocial considerations related to hair loss, quantitative and formulation concepts, and integrative wellness considerations. Students then progress into applied clinical training through the Clinical Trichology Residency™, developing competency in professional consultation and assessment, microscopic hair and scalp analysis, clinical documentation, supportive scalp modalities, microneedling principles and safety, low-level light/laser therapy, high-frequency therapy, scalp stimulation and rejuvenation, herbal scalp detoxification and infusion therapies, biocommunication and wellness assessment technologies, KCIS clinical software, case management, cranial prosthesis, non-surgical hair replacement, and foundational insurance and professional credentialing processes applicable to hair replacement services. The Clinical Trichology Residency may be completed through an approved online clinical pathway or scheduled in-person clinical residency, allowing students to select the delivery method appropriate to their circumstances while satisfying defined program competencies. Students who previously completed Level I at KISSED University do not need to purchase or repeat the complete Level III program. They may complete Level II, after which the University recognizes completion of the Level I + Level II requirements toward the Certified Clinical Trichologist™ credential. Successful completion of all required Level I and Level II coursework, clinical requirements, comprehensive assessment requirements, and applicable culminating requirements establishes eligibility for the Certified Clinical Trichologist™ credential following Registrar review and issuance. Graduates may subsequently pursue Level IV — Doctor of Trichology Science™ or other advanced professional opportunities for which they meet applicable admission requirements.
