Each program belongs to a College and combines academic study with the applied, clinical or independent work appropriate to its discipline. Programs that require them conclude with a comprehensive Final Exam and a Capstone before a certificate of completion is awarded.

Program

A credential pathway made up of several courses, with its own admissions, academic sequence and completion requirements.

Individual Course

One course studied on its own. No application and no program commitment where it is published as individually available.

Continuing Education

Focused study for practitioners and graduates, carrying CE hours where the offering states them.

Workshop / Clinical Intensive

Hands-on and applied learning, completed on the dates the University makes available.

A KUHAS program is a structured pathway toward a professional credential. Depending on the discipline, a program may include online theory, applied assignments, examinations, clinical or hands-on training, independent projects and professional development — and where the program requires them, a comprehensive Final Exam and a Capstone must both be passed before a certificate of completion is awarded.

Not every program contains every component. Each program page states its own College, format, start conditions, credential outcome, tuition and admissions requirements, and those published values are the authoritative ones. Where a value has not yet been established by the University, it is left off the page rather than estimated.

Clinical Herbalism & Botanical Therapeutics™

The Clinical Herbalism & Botanical Therapeutics™ Program is a comprehensive professional education program designed to develop competency in the science, formulation, safety, and practical application of herbal and botanical preparations. Students progress from foundational herbal science and materia medica into plant constituents, formulation principles, herbal preparations, dosage and measurement concepts, safety and contraindications, client education, botanical product development, and applied herbal practice. Rather than focusing solely on memorizing individual herbs, the program teaches students how to think systematically about botanical formulation—why an herb is selected, how multiple botanicals work together within a formulation, how preparation methods influence use, what safety considerations must be evaluated, and how botanical recommendations should be documented and communicated responsibly. Applied coursework incorporates teas, infusions, decoctions, tinctures and extracts, infused oils, salves, topical preparations, herbal baths and soaks, and other botanical applications while emphasizing responsible scope of practice and evidence-informed decision-making. Graduates who successfully complete all academic and competency requirements earn the Certified Clinical Herbalist™ credential from KISSED University of Healing Arts & Sciences.

Format
Online, self-paced academic coursework with applied formulation activities and competency-based assignments. Selected botanical laboratory experiences may be completed through approved at-home, virtual, or in-person formats as designated by the University.
