The Art of Healing: Identity, Grief & Human Transformation™
College of Inner Healing & Human DevelopmentThe Art of Healing: Identity, Grief & Human Transformation™ is the signature professional certification program of the College of Inner Healing & Human Development at KISSED University of Healing Arts & Sciences. The program explores how identity develops, changes, becomes disrupted, and is reconstructed throughout the human experience. Students examine the relationship between self-concept, life roles, relationships, loss, grief, transition, emotional awareness, meaning, creativity, resilience, and personal transformation. Central to the program is the understanding that significant life experiences can affect not only what a person feels, but also how that person understands who they are. Loss may involve the death of a loved one, but human beings may also grieve relationships, roles, careers, health, expectations, communities, previous versions of themselves, and futures they once imagined. Grounded in KISSED University's philosophy of teaching the Art of Healing, students learn to facilitate structured reflective and creative experiences incorporating approaches such as journaling, narrative work, mirror work, visual art, color, storytelling, botanical and sensory experiences, tactile and textile activities, ritual and remembrance, and other forms of intentional creative expression. Students learn not simply to facilitate activities, but to understand their purpose, establish appropriate boundaries, create emotionally responsible environments, recognize situations requiring referral, and design intentional experiences that support reflection, meaning-making, identity exploration, and human development. The program does not prepare graduates to diagnose or treat mental-health disorders or independently practice psychotherapy, counseling, or other regulated mental-health services without the separate education, credentials, and licensure required by applicable law. Successful completion of all required coursework, assessments, comprehensive examination, and capstone leads to the Certified Inner Healing & Human Development Practitioner™ credential.
